1 & 30 October - employment reforms coming

Bookending next month are the next two big dates in the employment reforms implementation roadmap.

1 October

The time limit for bringing a claim to Employment Tribunal will increase from three to six months (but if you are in Scotland, note that for breach of employment contract claims this change will happen on 9 November).

30 October

Trade union measures, including the duty to inform workers of their right to join a trade union and trade unions’ stronger rights of access.
Harassment measures, including requiring employers to take ‘all reasonable steps’ to prevent sexual harassment of employees, including an obligation not to permit harassment by third parties.
