1 & 30 October - employment reforms coming
1 October
The time limit for bringing a claim to Employment Tribunal will increase from three to six months (but if you are in Scotland, note that for breach of employment contract claims this change will happen on 9 November).
30 October
- Trade union measures, including the duty to inform workers of their right to join a trade union and trade unions’ stronger rights of access.
- Harassment measures, including requiring employers to take ‘all reasonable steps’ to prevent sexual harassment of employees, including an obligation not to permit harassment by third parties.
This Bulletin will continue to give reminders before the new obligations kick in. But remember, if you want to see all the reforms, implementation dates and suggested actions in one place, our Employment Rights Act 2025 – At A Glance Summary is your go-to document.
