Q&A with Amy Remmer

Getting to know Amy, our LOTF Co-Chair of the Leaders of the Future Community

Amy Remmer is an Account Director at VOW Wholesale, where she’s spent the past nine years building strong relationships, supporting customers, and helping the business grow. Known for her down-to-earth approach and commitment to great service, Amy plays a key role in making sure clients feel valued and looked after. Her experience, energy, and genuine passion for what she does make her an important part of the VOW team. Amy is the current Co-chair of the LOTF Committee.

Amy took some time to answer a few questions so we could get to know her beyond the job title.

What’s one thing you hope to contribute to the Leaders of the Future community?

I want to bring my passion and straight up honest views on what leading authentically really looks like the wins, the struggles, and everything in between. For me, leadership isn’t about being perfect, it’s about being real. I’m here to share practical insights on connection and culture and help build a space where we can learn from each other and lead in ways that actually feel right. Leadership’s not a solo gig, it’s something we do better together.

I’m keen to share real, honest experiences about leading with authenticity. Having worked across different areas where building genuine connections and culture really matters, I want to help others find their own leadership style that fits who they are. For me, being open about both the wins and challenges is key to helping us all learn and grow together.

What inspired you to join the Leaders of the Future community?

I joined LOTF because it’s rare to find a community genuinely focused on what leadership looks like moving forward. I’m eager to learn from others, challenge myself, and grow not just for my own development, but to help develop and inspire others across the industry

What’s one leadership skill you’re focusing on developing right now?

Right now, I’m focusing on strategic influencing, particularly learning how to bring people on a journey of change with clarity and confidence, even when the path ahead is uncertain. It’s a skill that feels more relevant than ever, especially as the industry is evolving at pace.

Who is a leader you admire, and what’s one lesson you’ve learned from them?

I’ve always admired Sir Richard Branson for the way he puts people at the heart of his business. He’s shown that when you trust your team and create a culture where people feel empowered, success tends to follow. His approach reminds me that leadership isn’t about control, it’s about building belief.

What’s your proudest accomplishment so far in your leadership journey?

Co-chairing LOTF is something I’m incredibly proud of. Being trusted to help shape the next generation of leaders, while still growing myself is both humbling and energising. It’s a space where impact is held in real conversations and bold ideas.

What’s a leadership book, podcast, or resource that has influenced you the most?

The High Performance Podcast, hosted by Jake Humphrey and Professor Damian Hughes, has been a constant source of insight for me. I appreciate how it draws lessons from sport, business, and psychology, making them practical and relevant. It’s helped me understand how to perform under pressure, develop mental resilience, and maintain focus all of which are vital in leadership.

In your opinion, what’s the most important quality of a great leader?

For me, it’s self-awareness. Without it, nothing else sticks. When leaders know who they are, what they stand for, and how they show up, they create space for others to do the same. That’s when real trust and progress are possible.

How do you like to unwind and recharge after a long day?

I genuinely believe in the power of switching off. A walk outdoors, music in the background, and time spent with people who bring me joy, that’s my reset button. Recharging isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity for bringing your best every day.
