Geoff Betts Retires After Distinguished Career in the Business Supplies Industry

Geoff’s industry journey began as Vice President of the Rubber Stamp Guild from 1988 to 1995. He went on to serve as Chairman of Manufacturers between 2005 and 2010, and held a seat on the BOSS Federation Board from 1996 until 2022. He also served as Chairman of the BOSS Board from 2017 to 2020, offering steady leadership during a period of industry evolution and challenge.

Geoff was instrumental in creatng the Leaders of the Future community group, a community that has continued to thrive since it's inception - Geoff's industry accolades include the BOSS Lifetime Achievement award (2013) and the Industry Achievement prize at OPI’s European Office Products Awards in 2023.

Beyond successfully leading his own business, Geoff has been passionate about bringing people together across the industry, always striving for its collective growth and improvement. His generosity with his time and his genuine desire to support and mentor new entrants to the industry reflect the values of a true industry statesman.

Eileen Ward, who worked alongside Geoff for nearly 30 years, shared:

I had the best time working with Geoff for almost 30 years! We worked very hard building a business from nothing but we had a lot of fun along the way doing so! Geoff is a very clever man with a great sense of humour and he can entertain a crowd anywhere, from China to Cambridge and a few more places along the way! I learned a lot from him and I will always be grateful for the opportunities he gave me at Stewart Superior.

Tom Petty, who began his career under Geoff’s guidance, added:

I first started working for Geoff in 2011, it was my first proper job, and I was very much just starting out and trying to find my way. Geoff was good enough to take me under his wing, and I soon became involved in all aspects of the business and the social side of the industry right from the start.
It was an absolute pleasure working for Geoff, he has a wonderful sense of optimism and fun, there was never a dull moment in the office with him. Geoff was there to witness many personal landmarks in my life, and he was a tremendous support to me and my family at every step along the way.
I feel I have grown as a person under Geoff’s guidance, and I can’t thank him enough for everything he has done for me. Personally, I would wholeheartedly like to wish Geoff every enjoyment & happiness in his retirement, and I look forward to sharing a bottle of rosé with him sometime over the summer.
