evo Foundation Appoints Experienced Non-Executive Leader Steve Wragg as Chairman

evo Foundation has appointed respected non-executive director and charity leader Steve Wragg as its new Chairman, strengthening the organisation’s governance and accelerating its ambitions to advance education and alleviate poverty across the region.

Originally from Sheffield and now living in Barnsley, Steve brings more than two decades of non-executive experience following a successful career in the IT sector. His current portfolio includes serving as Chair of the Board of Trustees for Weston Park Cancer Charity, Chair of the Joint Independent Audit Committee for the South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner, and Independent Director of Primary Care Sheffield.

Steve also served for ten years as Chairman of Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, where he helped lead the transformational Tiny Hearts Appeal, raising more than £1 million to fund the redevelopment and relocation of a new Neonatal Unit.

In his new role at evo Foundation, Steve will support the existing trustees with governance, strategic oversight, and the development of new fundraising initiatives. His background across both charitable and commercial organisations positions him to help guide the Foundation through its next phase of growth.

Commenting on his appointment, Steve Wragg said:

evo Foundation are doing things that I believe in, so I’m excited to be joining the trustees to help take the Foundation to new heights in 2026. I have two children at University, so the cause of education is particularly close to my heart, along with helping those in our local area who may be struggling or going through a hard time.

Leanne Gregg, Trustee of evo Foundation, welcomed the appointment:

As soon as I first met with Steve, I knew he’d be a great fit for evo Foundation. Steve is full of energy, and he brings so much experience and enthusiasm to his roles. I know he’s going to be a great addition to the evo Foundation team.

The evo Foundation continues to expand its work supporting individuals and communities across the region, and Steve’s appointment marks a significant milestone in strengthening the charity’s long-term impact.
