Simon Drakeford, BOSS Chairman, received a response to his letter titled ‘Keeping Britain Clean, Safe and Working - How we can Help' from Lord Callanan on behalf of the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy.

Lord Callanan highlighted that with the exception of the closure of non-essential shops and public spaces as listed in the original guidance, government have not required any other businesses to close and stressed the importance for business to carry on - while following appropriate safety measures, something we are reassured to see that many of our members are doing.

He explained that the government are working hard to ensure that trade continues to flow to maintain the supply of essential goods and services and thanked the business supplies industry for the offer of help during this time of crisis encouraging individuals or companies who can provide a service to apply via www.gov.uk/coronavirus-support-from-business.

BOSS will continue to work closely with BEIS to communicate our industry's needs.
