BOSS Awards

Hal Cruttenden

Your host of the 2023 BOSS Awards, Hal Cruttenden. Hal is a seasoned comedian, actor, and writer. His credits stretch from Eastenders and The Madness of King George, all the way to The Rob Brydon Show, and Orwell, a Celebration in the theatre.

About Hal

Hal presented a comedy rugby podcast with Dan Skinner called Rugby Jubbly, as well as a streaming show The Huddle, for Saracens Rugby Club. He’s toured extensively in the UK and Ireland, and has taken shows to the Montreal, Melbourne, and New Zealand comedy festivals. Hal wrote and starred in his own sitcom, Hal on BBC Radio 4, as an actor he trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama.

Hal is unashamedly suburban, by his own admission teetering on the edge of a mid-life crisis. According to The Scotsman ‘he takes the personal and the ridiculous and whizzes them into a delicious comedy smoothie that’s sweet with a hint of sharpness.’

He has made several appearances on Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, The Royal Variety Performance, Would I Lie To You, The One Show, The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice, and The Apprentice: You’re Fired. He also danced to Destiny’s Child’s Bootylicious for Let's Dance For Comic Relief, and took on the Sports Relief Sailing Challenge.
