Tim Beaumont Retires Leaving Group in Strong Position
Current General Manager Graeme Hargreaves will succeed him as Group Managing Director from 1 January 2026.
“I made the decision over a year ago,” said Tim. “I informed the Executive Board and we put a strategic plan in place for Graeme to assume more responsibilities throughout the year to ensure a smooth transition. Graeme has huge industry experience and is the ideal person to take the baton and continue Nemo Office Club’s exciting journey.”
Tim joined Nemo as Commercial Director in October 2011 and became Managing Director in 2012. He led a period of growth and innovation while maintaining the group’s cooperative ownership model, which keeps members at the centre of its operations. One of his most significant moves was the acquisition of Office Club in July 2019. “Dealer groups are all about collaboration and strength in numbers,” Tim explained. “When I reviewed what Office Club offered and the profile of its members, it felt like a natural fit. The merger broadened our mix of commercial, retail and online dealers—an important advantage as the market demands new ideas and diversification.”
The merger was followed almost immediately by the Covid pandemic. “Those were tough times,” Tim said, “but they also gave us the opportunity to focus on uniting the purchasing and marketing strengths of both teams. With Graeme joining at the time of the merger, we had an experienced team that knew exactly what dealers needed. In hindsight, it was one of my proudest periods as MD.”
Tim’s leadership was recognised at the 2024 Boss Awards, where he was named Business Leader of the Year for his role in guiding the merger and steering the group through the pandemic. The group continues to demonstrate its breadth and success: all three finalists in the Independent Retailer category at this year’s Boss Awards are Nemo Office Club members, and Costcutters UK is shortlisted for Dealer of the Year (over £5 million). The group’s Keep It Local campaign has also been shortlisted for Campaign of the Year.
“Those nominations highlight the diversity and strength of our membership,” Tim said. “We have entrepreneurial, passionate retailers working hard on high streets, and larger commercial dealers operating at scale and driving differentiation in their businesses—our structure supports and benefits them all.”
Michael Morgan, Chairman of the group, added: “It has been a pleasure working with Tim over the last 14 years. Together with the Executive Board and his team, he has helped transform Nemo Office Club into one of the industry’s most innovative dealer groups. On behalf of all our members, we wish Tim every happiness in his retirement.”
After 14 years, Tim leaves the business in a strong position and plans to spend more time on the golf course and working with his church, confident that he has laid the foundations for a bright future under Graeme’s leadership.
