Ride of Life and Dine of Life - Friday 17th May

Many in the industry will be familiar with the fundraising by those taking part in the Climb of Life which takes place in the Lake District each year in aid of the Institute of Cancer Research.

So far, the ‘Climbers’ have raised nearly £2M. In 2018 the Ride of Life was launched to raise money for the ICR on two wheels. So far, the Lycra-clad ‘Riders’ have managed to raise nearly £30K on the roads of the Cotswolds and Surrey with all proceeds going towards the Institute’s cancer-defeating discoveries.

Following the success of the Discovery Ball held in 2019, there’s a new event – the Dine of Life which will take place on Friday May 17th, 2024, at Bedford’s Mercure Hotel on the Great River Ouse. The black-tie event includes a three-course meal followed by charity auction and raffle and the opportunity to dance the night away to a live band.

This year the 2024 Ride of Life will also take place on May Starting and finishing next door to the Mercure Hotel. The Ride of Life this year is open to cyclists able to cover a 100K route or there’s a more leisurely shorter ride for those wanting a more relaxing route. So, whether you’re a ‘Lycra Rider’ or a ‘Leisure Rider’, there’s something for everyone to get involved in, with the day culminating in joining the ‘Diners’ for a great night out, all aimed at raising essential cash for the ICR’s world-class work.
