Member Spotlight: eco-eco Stationery
BOSS Member eco-eco Stationery was formed with the aim to make environmentally friendly stationery products the ‘norm’ and not the ‘exception’, with the ambition and priority to take care of its customers, its trade partners, its employees, and planet.
The company was founded in 2015 by Laura McGowan & James Faulkner, who, through a shared passion of stationery, identified a gap in the market for high quality, reasonably-priced eco-friendly stationery products. Combining their expertise and putting their heads together for the greater (environmental and social) good, they formed eco-eco, a company who supply stationery products with high eco credentials at no additional cost to the consumer.
Starting with 18 SKU’s made up of punched pockets and display books, Eco-eco’s portfolio now boasts over 125 product lines, with more on the way. The now comprehensive range of filing and storage products offers a diverse product listing, to complement the core product lines associated with filing and storage, with all products made from recycled or eco-friendly materials.
Going from strength to strength and against the odds, through Brexit and COVID-19 challenges, the company, now in its 8th year of trading, employs three full time and one part time employee.
The company promises that all eco-eco products will be made from environmentally responsible sources (traceable provenance), with all products being made from 50% minimum recycled content, and all packaging will be kept to a minimum and will be recyclable. Choosing to partner with distribution couriers committed to reducing their carbon footprint and strive to uphold their strong principles that they embed throughout every layer of the business (from the manufacturing to the staff kitchen!)
eco-eco also donate an annual percentage of profits to an ecologically responsible and/or socially responsible charity – as guided by customers and publish all activity through the ‘profits through ethics scheme’.
eco eco 's promise...
“At eco-eco we had an aim of instilling confidence in our customers that, in buying an eco-eco product, they would be buying a product that has been responsibly and ecologically sourced whilst managing to retain the affordability.
We have called this the eco-eco promise and it is our pledge to you that we don’t just talk the talk when it comes to all things eco, we do the do”
We asked James what the plans for eco-eco looked like for the future…
Our strategy is to carry on slowly growing our product range and increasing our business share of the market.
eco-eco realises the importance of having contented, dedicated and skilled staff. We involve all staff in the running of the company and always show how important they are to us and how they are appreciated. This gives our staff a real sense of purpose and encourages them to go the extra mile for our customers.
Where to find them?
You can catch eco-eco at Industry Trade shows, regularly attending supplier exhibitions and trade fairs to discuss the eco-eco portfolio.
