Coronavirus – business best practice – ensure robust processes and planning to protect employees and business resilience
Since the outbreak of Coronavirus, which causes severe respiratory disease including pneumonia, in December 2019 in Wuhan Hubei Province China many organisations have implemented precautionary measures such as travel restrictions to and from China.
With cases of the virus now confirmed in the UK it is essential employers keep their employees up-to-date with the latest guidance and advice from government and public health agencies.
Educate and advise
- Educate employees on the symptoms and hygiene measures
- Advise employees who have had exposure to seek medical advice
- Review protective equipment, and ensure cleaning protocols
- Review and update communication procedures where appropriate
Planning and response
- Advise employees not to travel if sick
- If travelling, advise employees maintain flexible travel plans
- Ensure Disaster Recovery Plans are in place on site – test and review
- Review Pandemic Plans including how to manage travellers from affected areas
