BOSS Synergy Data Group release new Industry Standard Product Classification (ISPC) Version 9.0
The BOSS Synergy Data Group who have been meeting regularly throughout the pandemic have released a major Industry Standard Product Classification (ISPC) update for January 2021. This version, Version 9.0, will replace Version 7.6.
The Industry Standard Product Classification (ISPC) has created a common language for classifying office products. Using the same categories and cross-referencing codes means that cleaner, more accurate product and price file data can be maintained.
The intention of this update is to allow for more detailed definitions in several growth areas outside of traditional office products. Tools, PPE and Clothing have been re-classified, additional classifications have been added to Catering, Janitorial, Arts & Crafts and Educational Supplies and new classifications now exist for Gaming & Smart Technology.
Chris Anstey Chair of the BOSS Synergy Data Group comments "This is a major update to the ISPC and some classifications have been deleted and replaced by more granular categories. Tools, PPE and clothing are areas where major changes have been made. All users of the ISPC will need to review their classification data to ensure that it is in line with this version for 1st January 2021 "
