Bengolf Round Up

Another fantastic BOSS Bengolf Day took place on Monday 16 June at the Wyboston Lakes Golf Centre in Bedfordshire, raising £10,000 for the BOSS Benevolent Fund.

Organised by Benfund Trustees Stanley Vaughan, Frances Stephen and Mike Gowen, and helped by Marie Challis of Antalis, the day was supported by main sponsor, VOW, and attracted a record number of over 100 golfers for what shaped up to be a fantastic competition in glorious surroundings.

BOSS Benevolent Fund Chairman, Graeme Chapman MBE, said "It was really great to once again see over 100 office supplies golfers enjoying a great networking day and at the same time supporting our industry's charity."

Congratulations go out to the 2014 Bengolf Cup Winners, Ryman, continuing their winning streak for the second year, and to the runners up, Office Friendly for giving them a run for their money.

Taking home the prize for the Yellow Ball Competition were Office Team, with VOW Team 2 coming a close second. Robert Moore of Office Team said, "Office Team's 4 ball were delighted to win the Yellow Ball Competition again given the copious amount of water hazards - 3 times in a row now - surely that must mean we get to keep it forever?"

The prize for the Longest Drive went to Mark Knibbs of Pilot Pen. When pushed for the secret of his technique, Knibbs commented, "I closed my eyes, swung as hard as I could and miraculously it went long and straight. I did the same on the next hole and it didn't!"

Nearest the Pin champion was Thomas Harwood of the Newell Rubbermaid Team and winner of the Putting Competition was Darren Pilkington from the Fellowes Team.

Congratulations to all winners, runners up and thanks to everyone who got involved to support your industry's charity, particularly those that brought auction and raffle prizes.
