It was with great sadness that BOSS heard of the death on 22nd February of Mel Moody at the age of 75.

As well as for his long career in the industry, Mel is fondly remembered for his many years of work in making the BOSS Charity Day (then known as BenGolf) a success.  Says BOSS Charity Trustee Mike Gowen, "Golf was a great passion for Mel, as was raising money to help people in need within our industry. It was Mel's vision that BenGolf could become a big event by bringing together the key industry manufacturers and wholesalers to make a team and then invite their key golf playing customers to play on the day.  There would then be a gala dinner and fundraising auction in the evening, with great auction items being supplied by many trade suppliers. He had an amazing ability to get support from right across the industry - and was also very skilled in successfully delegating the huge amount of work amongst a small team of helpers.  Thanks to Mel, BenGolf would have nearly 40 teams playing at Colingtree Park near Northampton, and with c200 guests attending the evening event, around £25,000 was raised for the Charity. He also ran at least two BenGolf days at Whittlebury Park."

BOSS sends its sincere condolences to his wife Rosemary, who was always by his side helping the organisation and keeping Mel on the straight and narrow.
