October's BOSS Business Supplies Charity meeting saw its former Chairman Stanley Vaughan retire as a Trustee after an involvement spanning over quarter of a century. During his Chairmanship, Stanley was responsible for several initiatives which have made a huge impact on the success of the Charity, formerly known as the BOSS Benevolent Fund. Stanley was instrumental in creating a set of case study videos to show the work of the charity and its positive impact on beneficiaries, which resulted in a huge increase in donations. He also instigated the move to fund managers CCLA, bringing strong growth to the Charity's capital assets, despite difficult market conditions.

Stanley started his career in office products in 1963 when he moved from Scotland to become Marketing Manager for George Rowney. He arrived at Rexel in 1969, eventually becoming Sales and Marketing Director, and in 1984 became Managing Director of Schwan Stabilo. He was honoured for Outstanding Achievement at the BOSS Awards in 1997 and in 2014 won another BOSS Award for his work with the BOSS Charity.

Graeme Chapman MBE, Chairman of the BOSS Business Supplies Charity, said: "Nobody in living memory has done more for the BOSS Charity than Stanley. He, and Roger Murphy, held the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman for more than 25 years, so it is little wonder that he was presented with BOSS Achievement Awards. An industry stalwart, his "umpa umpa" beerkeller parties in Nuremberg were legendary!"

Stanley will continue to be seen at industry events as a member of the Society of Old Friends, where he held the position of Secretary for 25 years.
