Pentel promotion aims to reduce waste
Pentel has launched a new promotion in a bid to encourage end-users to help reduce waste and the consumption of single-use plastic.
The company is offering a special pack containing 12 EnerGel X pens and 12 free refills in black or blue ink.
EnerGel is Pentel's flagship pen range, with the original quick-drying ink that reduces smudging on hands and paper. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year EnerGel is available in a wide range of sizes and colours - and most of the styles in the family are refillable.
EnerGel X is one of Pentel's best-selling products and there's more good news because it contains one of the highest percentages of recycled materials of any of the company's products at 84 per cent.
As a global company Pentel has been committed to developing sustainable products for many years, including its Recycology range of display books and presentation files, all made from a minimum of 50 per cent recycled material.
Marketing Manager, Wendy Vickery, says, "As well as choosing products made from recycled materials it's important for end-users to be able to refill a product and Pentel is working hard to make refillable as many products in our range as possible. EnerGel X not only contains a high percentage of recycled content, it can also be refilled."
She adds, "There are other important factors to consider when looking at sustainability and consumption. Quality workmanship also extends the life of any product. So, while it might be appealing to buy the cheapest, not only is it a false economy, it makes little sense when we're trying to do what we can to protect our environment. Poorly made pens, pencils and markers are less likely to last for as long as quality, branded products. And, if they break before they've run out, or they can't be refilled, in most cases they end up in landfill. Investing just a little more in quality products than write longer, can be refilled and don't fall apart or break easily not only gives better value for money, it also reduces waste, which is better for all of us in the long run."
