Industry Standards

Packaging & Labelling

Background

Each year millions of pounds of cost are wasted in returns, credits and fines when suppliers fail to meet agreed packaging standards for their products. Often it is in simple areas such as clearly identified quantity statements, machine readable bar codes and clear, legible product descriptions. In addition there is the knock-on effect on service and reputation with the end user when packaging and labelling problems mean their needs are not met.

Standards in this area mean that products can be identified, stored and transported successfully along the supply chain to the end user in good condition.
