BOSS Federation Cartons is the folding carton Special Interest Group of the British Printing Industries Federation, the business support organisation for employers in the printing, packaging and graphic communications industry.
BOSS Federation Cartons membership represents three quarters of the UK carton market. There is also an associate membership of suppliers drawn from a variety of manufacturing areas within the printing industry. The activities of the BOSS Federation Cartons include:
Networking
- Regular meetings for members to discuss current industry issues and exchange best practice. BOSS Federation Cartons has an associate membership which participates in the meetings so views are shared across the supply chain.
- Ad hoc seminars on topics of current interest such as market trends and packaging waste.
- A bi-annual Conference
Lobbying
- BOSS Federation Cartons lobbies on issues both in the UK and in Europe. The Association is a member of ECMA (European Carton Makers Association) whose members are drawn from across Europe. Through ECMA members are able to keep close contact with events in Europe and have influence at European level such as the drafting of ECMA's Standard Terms and Conditions. Members can attend ECMA's annual congress and exchange information with their European colleagues.
- BOSS Federation Cartons promotes the image of cartons and cartonboard packaging to packaging specifiers and end-users through its Promotion and Marketing Group.
- BOSS Federation cartons also has a Technical Advisory Group which develops guidance for members and lobbies suppliers and others.

- BOSS Federation Cartons members are also, by virtue of the their membership, members of ECMA.
- ECMA (European Carton Manufacturers Association) is an organisation representing the carton industry at European level and also organising events, conferences and the gathering of statistical information.
