FAQs

Is my organisation eligible for membership?

Membership of the BOSS Federation is open to any company within the office products, stationery and services supply chain. Perhaps uniquely, the Federation represents both suppliers and resellers and is therefore the complete industry representative.

Why should I join for more than one year?

If you choose to join for multiple years you will be eligible for a reduction on the membership fee. You will also be safe in the knowledge that you will be receiving continuous support, with the benefit that your membership fee is fixed and not subject to a yearly increase.

What benefits do I get from joining?

By joining the BOSS Federation we aim to ensure you gain maximum benefit from your membership by providing you with well over 200 products and services to choose from, in partnership with the BPIF (British Printing Industries Federation).

Many of the products and services are delivered at a regional level with local teams on hand to help at any time, from online and telephone to on-site support, whichever suits your needs and depending on your level of membership.

There are 6 regions, with 3 offices, in the UK. BOSS has a regional representation in Scotland, but members based in Scotland are adminstered by the North West Region.

Will I get full use of the benefits on offer?

We appreciate your time is paramount and have specifically designed our membership benefits, including all our products and services with your time and your companies success in mind. Being an organisation that is set up first and foremost to either supply or sell office products and stationery, we don't waste your time learning about your industry. We deliver right from the start.

For example, if you are looking for help with HR, Health & Safety or Environmental issues our experts are dealing with those issues on a daily basis. All our HR documents are tried and tested and available for you to download online, or if you prefer, the security of knowing that the right advice is only a phone call away.

All our experts can provide information to you, wherever you are located, online, by email, fax or telephone or at your site. All our benefits will naturally complement and support you in your day-to-day life as a director or manager, allowing you time to focus on your business.

What are the levels of membership?

There are three levels of membership: Silver, Gold and Platinum.

Silver is available to members of BOSS member Buying/Dealer Groups ONLY.

Gold is the entry level of membership for all manufacturers/suppliers; contract stationers; wholesalers; retailers; dealer groups and independent dealers. Dealers who are part of Dealer Groups can also upgrade.

Platinum is available to all members and provides the most extensive and bespoke services for your organisation.

I am a member - how can I access the website?

Access is dependent on membership level; however to access the Members Area - click the green login button on the top right-hand corner of the website, this will take you to a login page.

Your User Name is your email address - which we should have stored in our database, but if it is not or it has changed you will need to contact your Regional Administrator - please see Contact Us for details; and your Password is your Company Membership Number.

You can find your Membership Number on the top of your invoice and on your membership certificate.

How Can I Get Involved?

You can get involved in a variety of ways - you can volunteer to become a member of one of the Federation's standing committees. Currently there are two:

  • Standardisation & Technical Committee
  • Environment Committee

You could become a Trustee of the BOSS Federation Benevolent Fund or a member of BOSS regional Committee that is appropriate for you.

For more information please see the Standards page; the Charity page or the Regions page.
